How
many of us during this Christmas season prayed for “peace on earth”? It is easy to become quickly overwhelmed
with the violence, injustice, and conflict in our world. While we must
continue to work for peace in the world around us, we must not neglect
striving for our own personal peace.
Let’s face it- the regular pattern of our everyday lives is filled
with chaos, stress, and anxiety. We
must strive for ways to discover personal peace in our lives. By taking care and discovering peace in
our hearts, we can make great strides toward bringing peace to our
families, community, and world.
And
let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire
continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all
questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as
[members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be
thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]. Colossians 3: 15
