Pro Life or Pro Choice – which will you be?
We know of the many “Catholic politicians” who say they are “personally opposed” to abortion, but fight hard to pass laws making abortion more available, or vigorously oppose laws that would restrict it. Our California legislature certainly has more than its share of such politicians.
Without realizing it many of us are really “pro Choice”Catholics. We may never deliberately advocate laws promoting abortion. Still we adopt the attitude that “I know abortion is wrong. I would never have one, or advocate it to anyone, but I don’t want to get involved in any pro life activities. That’s for someone else.”
If that is your attitude, then you are in, essence, a pro choice catholic. You are doing just what the militant advocates of the culture of death want from you – namely nothing. And as long as that situation continues, the culture of death will prevail. All the abortion industry needs from you is to do nothing and it can continue doing its vile work.
It is a sin of omission to watch 1.2 million babies die each year, to watch medical practice be debased (Gosnell and many more like him), our legal system corrupted (Roe v Wade), our media corrupted (shameful contempt for the truth), without taking action.
